My Fellow Americans is a book I designed for my advanced typography class during my senior year. The book aims to open up a conversation about nationalism by comparing the similarities between Franklin D. Roosevelt's Fireside chat about going to war with Japan and George W. Bush's 9/11 speech. Throughout the book are excerpts from the famous speeches that are being fed into a teleprompter to create a new generic speech that can be applied to any American tragedy. The goal is for the reader to understand that all American speeches are crafted in the same vein to invoke nationalism. You can read the full book at the end of the page.

The cover of My Fellow Americans is simple but conveys the emotions of being Strong, Bold, and American.

Each page inside the book has excerpts from both FDR and Bush's speeches being feed into a teleprompter to create a new generic speech which can be seen at the end of the book. The blue and red type of the other page represents a common theme from both of the excerpts on each page.
